Beautifull panoramicviews and nice hike up through local houses. Might be windy, so be prepared. Its free, few benches to sit on and the only person was a security guy in the cabin..enjoy 🗺🇹🇷😇🙌👏 …

Tokat Castle, is an ancient citadel with 28 towers built on top of a rocky peak in the center of Tokat, Turkey. While its first residents are unknown, the city's history dates back to 3,000 BC. The Hittites and Persians ruled over the area.

The castle completely dominates the city, which can be seen from almost everywhere in Tokat. The castle, which was built for road safety during the Roman Period, remained under Byzantine rule for approximately 500 years. The castle, which was first conquered by Danishmend Melik Gazi in 1074, changed hands in short intervals and came under the rule of Danishmend, Seljuk, Ilkhanid, Eretna, Kadı Burhanettin and Ottoman Empire respectively. The castle, built on steep and steep rocks, is a natural fortress. During the Ottoman Empire, the dungeon called "Çardak-ı Bedevi" was the prison of many famous people, especially the Byzantine Emperor A. Diogenis. A rock tomb dating back to ancient times was carved in the southwest of the castle. At the mouth of the grave there is a column and two cells, one of which is large. You can also go down to the bottom of the castle via a 362-step staircase. Today, this stairway is closed.

The southern entrance is made of conveyor belts rather than stairs, so you can't climb up, and the northern entrance is closed. The view from the north entrance is pretty good.
